Thank you for your interest in “Ask a CPA”, the new community created by The Dancing Accountant — Nancy McClelland, CPA — for bookkeepers who want to level-up their accounting game and increase collaboration with their clients’ CPAs and tax preparers.
Our vision for the future is that, as bookkeepers learn the tips and tricks about how to prepare tax-ready books, and workpapers that show the CPA what kind of review work has been done, they will impress the heck out of these tax preparers… and even be able to give them some tips of their own, on communication and technology. The ones that respect this outreach and effort will channel more business back to the bookkeepers. And the ones that don’t, can eventually be phased out by either convincing the client to switch tax preparers, or by letting those clients go. Over time, we’d like to see a shift in how bookkeepers are treated by the CPAs, EAs, and other tax preparers that depend on them for accurate books and a manageable tax season.
